...is the first tract (Christian leaflet) which the Lord led me to write and is an attempt to wake people up from their apathy.

 

Years of giving out many different tracts to people in shopping centres and parks etc. has enabled me to see many different responses to the receiving of a gospel tract - ranging widely from sitting down to read it with great interest, to utter disgust and the literal throwing of it over their shoulder.

 

Many leaflets are written with a long introduction before they reach the challenge. Of course these are good if people are willing to read them. But sadly many people now-a-days, as soon as they see the word ‘God’, choose to either screw it up or cast it into the nearest bin, and therefore don’t receive a good challenge.

 

This leaflet is designed to give a challenge right from the very first sentence. They have to read the title to know what it is about, and thereby receive the challenge! God can surely use that sentence in mighty ways. The Holy Spirit, who convicts of sin, can keep bringing it back to their minds to challenge them to turn to the Lord while they still can. Since writing the tract, I have met several Christians who testify to coming to the Lord as a result of being asked that very same question!

 

If only all Christians gave out tracts to the people they pass in the streets as they go about their business, perhaps shopping, perhaps having a family stroll in the park etc.! How much more quickly would people hear the saving Gospel message, and so many more would be reached!

 

How about you too becoming a distributor of tracts? That’s if you are not already! It is not hard - you don’t even have to say anything, except perhaps, “Here’s a leaflet for you.” You can even leave them on the bus, or park benches (on dry, still days!), or a good place is tucked behind the hand drier in public toilets! I had a response from a lady who came to the Lord as a result of finding one I had put in a telephone box. I have heard of people who have come to the Lord after picking up a tract from the ground.

 

These leaflets are designed to be low cost so they can be given out freely and unreservedly. Yes, there are much better quality tracts available which are more attractive, but they cost so much more and don’t give an opportunity for people to respond by asking for free booklets. What’s more, it’s not an attractive picture which brings people to Christ, but a direct challenge can!
